Ambedkar Study Centre was inaugurated at Adarsh Institute of Management and Information Technology at their Campus on the 25th of April-2016. This initiative is the first of its kind by a Management and Information Technology College offering post graduate program.
Dr. Siddalingaiah, who is a poet, playwright and an activist was the chief guest. He inaugurated the Ambedkar Study Centre. He is the Director of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Studies and Research Centre at Bangalore University and was in the core team of Dr Ambedkar 125th birth celebration committee under the chairmanship of our prime minister Shri Narendra Modi.
In his inaugural address, he extolled the virtues of Dr. Ambedkar and spoke about the glorious contribution of Dr. Ambedkar in shaping the thought of the Indian youth. Dr. Ambedkar was not only successful in fighting against the then prevalent caste system, but also managed to gain the confidence of Indians cutting across casteist ideologies.
The key note address was delivered by Dr. Dasharath.N, Assistant Professor of Law, University Law College, Bangalore University, who is the first visually impaired Ph.D. holder in law. Dr. Dasharath spoke about the life journey of Bhabha saheb Ambedkar. He spoke in great detail about the adversities faced by Dr. Ambedkar as a lad, due to the casteist nature of society back then, the travails faced by him during his youth and the manner in which he stoically overcame the challenges and hurdles to carve a niche for himselfin Indian society. He especially lauded the pivotal role played by Dr. Ambedkar as the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Dr. Sharada, Convenor of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Studies and Research Centre, Bangalore University, Bangalore gave a brief on the purpose of setting up the study Centre. Dr. Anitha Ramachander, Director and Principal of Adarsh Institute of Management and Information Technology spoke about the dream that Dr. Ambedkar dreamt about the future of India and the Indian youth. The presidential remarks were given by Shri. V. Premraj Jain, President, Adarsh Group of Institutions.
Ambedkar Study Centre offered many volumes about the writings and speeches of Dr. Ambedkar to the Institution.
